This Weekend: Book Sales, Art Show and Fall Sports Come to An End
The editor's top picks for the weekend of Nov. 12.
This weekend in Potomac will have minimal sports, but lots of opportunities to enjoy art and curl up with a new book.
On Friday, 's varsity football team will have their last football game of the season at St. Mary's Ryken at 7 p.m. The team has a 5-4 record as is wraps up the season. This is one of the last games for fall sports in the area as winter sports tryouts begin next week at many local schools.
The will have a show for visiting artist Habib Hastaie on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at its gallery at 10107 River River. The show, "Infusions of Light and Color" will showcase Hastaie's figurative, portrait, representational, plein air and still ife paintings. The show will also include traditional Persian music.

The weekend will be an opportunity for book lovers to find great books for sale in the area. On Saturday, the is having their monthly book sale from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The book sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, raises money for programs at the Potomac Library.
Also, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington will host a on Sunday in Rockville from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. The 41st Annual Book Festival will have Jewish must-reads and all featured author books are 20 percent off.
