Week In Review: Primary Elections, Football Win and Community Involvement

This last week in Potomac brought community programming efforts, primary elections, a big win for Churchill's football team and news a rock band will soon be visiting.
On Sunday, Sept. 12, Potomac Community Center held an open house event to promote the fall programming going on through the Department of Recreation in Montgomery County. This was the first year the Potomac Community Center hosted an open house event and representatives from the center hope the open house increases participation in the fall programs.
Tuesday was primary election day in Montgomery County and many polling places in Potomac reported low voter turnout. The primary election had many upsets, among them was one contender for the . Riemer came in second behind Marc Elrich and pushed incumbent Duchy Trachtenberg out of the spot.

Thursday's rain didn't slow down the Churchill Bulldogs, who won their first football game of the year. Although the game had many turnovers and fumbles, Churchill defeated Walter Johnson by a final score of 7-0.
On Friday, golf tournament officials announced that New Orleans rock band, Better Than Ezra will be making a stop in Potomac for the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship to help celebrate Military Appreciation Day on Oct. 9. The concert will be free for people who want to attend.
