• Queen Anne's County Commissioners Approve Reduction in Property Tax Rate (shoreupdate.com) — Queen Anne’s County commissioners have voted to cut the property tax rate from $0.83 to $0.80 per $100 of assessed value starting July 1, 2026, slightly lowering bills for homeowners. The change comes as the county maintains a top-tier Triple-A bond rating and begins revising its proposed $234.5 million FY2027 budget, including major funding for schools.
   

• Trooper Involved Shooting During A Call For Service In Queen Anne's County (wgmd.com) — A man was shot by a Maryland state trooper Thursday afternoon during a call for a knife threat on Sherman Way in Chester, in Queen Anne’s County. He was flown to a trauma center, no one else was hurt, and multiple agencies are now investigating the shooting under standard review procedures.
