• Rockville Man Facing Multiple Charges For Car Thefts (patch.com) — Rockville police are investigating a series of car thefts in the West End community and have charged a 33-year-old local man in connection with multiple incidents. Officers say reports spiked in July and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Pat Hinaris as they continue building the case. 
• Two killed in wrong-way crash on I-270 in Montgomery County (wjla.com) — A deadly wrong-way crash on I-270's southbound spur near Democracy Boulevard left two Toyota passengers dead and sent the Mustang driver to the hospital Saturday evening. Maryland State Police from the Rockville Barrack are still investigating how the Mustang entered the highway going the wrong direction, and have not yet released victim identities or full details about the surviving drivers.
• Xbox Layoffs Protest: CWA Rallies Hit 9 Cities [2026] (tech-insider.org) — Rockville was one of several Xbox studio hubs where unionized game developers and community allies rallied this month against Microsoft's plan to cut 3,200 Xbox jobs. Organizers say the 'Save Our Devs' protests, including actions at Bethesda-linked studios in Rockville and Hunt Valley, aim to pressure Microsoft over repeated layoffs and what unions call slow-walked contract talks, while federal labor complaints move forward.
