MCB Real Estate Moves $2.7B Development Forward (connectcre.com) — A massive new $2.7 billion VIVA White Oak project in Silver Spring is moving ahead after legislation approved up to $420 million in tax-increment financing for public infrastructure. The 280-acre development near the FDA and Adventist hospital will add thousands of homes plus major retail, lab, and office space, including a Costco and town center, reshaping the area over time.

3. Silver Spring Carjacking Suspect Nabbed Years After Woman Dragged From Her Own Vehicle: Police (dailyvoice.com) — Police say a suspect has finally been arrested in connection with a July 2022 carjacking on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, where a woman was dragged and seriously injured. Daymonte Antonyio Jones is now being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center, offering some closure in a long-running local case.
   

4. Niis Pens Love Letter To Heartbreak In 'Earthquakes' (idobi.com) — Silver Spring music fans can catch newly signed Los Angeles punk band Niis at The Fillmore Silver Spring on October 28 as part of their fall tour. The group's latest single, "Earthquakes," previews their nostalgic, early-2000s-inspired EP Play Niis, due out October 23, blending heartbreak themes with big, hooky choruses for live audiences nationwide.
