SILVER SPRING, MD — A pedestrian was fatally hit by a car early Monday in Silver Spring.

Montgomery County Police said the deadly collision took place shortly after 2 a.m. near the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Gail Street.

Officials identified the pedestrian as a 39-year-old man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
