• Spring Ridge Student Among Winners In Maryland 'If I Were Mayor' Essay Contest (thebaynet.com) — A Spring Ridge Elementary fourth-grader from Frederick has been named one of just 11 statewide winners in Maryland’s 2026 “If I Were Mayor” essay contest, celebrating the Maryland Municipal League’s 90th anniversary. Their imaginative essay about the community’s future was honored in Annapolis alongside winners from across the state, with state and municipal leaders praising students’ creativity and understanding of local government.
