The Million Frog March Returns To The Lincoln Memorial!
Your are invited to join the Million Frog March, a historic gathering of frog enthusiasts, nature lovers and democracy defenders!
Democracy And Amphibian Conservation Converge In Washington, D.C. this Saturday, October 10
SAVE THE FROGS! will hold the second annual Million Frog March, a peaceful, family-friendly gathering of frog enthusiasts, environmental activists and democracy advocates, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. this Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m.
The march calls attention to the critical connection between healthy democracies and healthy ecosystems. With amphibian species vanishing at alarming rates due to habitat destruction, pollution and climate change, and democratic freedoms under unprecedented attack, the Million Frog March asserts that these threats are inseparable and must be fought together."We'd rather croak than be silenced!" said SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger, who will deliver remarks at the event. "Frogs have become an unexpected symbol of peaceful resistance. This march is our opportunity to defend both democracy and the natural world we all depend on."
The inaugural march on November 15, 2025 drew 65 participants in green attire and inflatable frog and axolotl costumes to the National Mall, where they educated hundreds of curious tourists. This year's march features speeches connecting environmental protection with democratic values, frog-themed music and poetry, and a short march along Constitution Avenue to the Albert Einstein Memorial, just a few weeks before the midterm elections.

SAVE THE FROGS! is the world's largest amphibian conservation organization, with a long history of activism on behalf of frogs and their habitats. Founded by DC-area native Dr. Kerry Kriger in 2008, the organization has led major campaigns in Washington DC and beyond, including a landmark protest at the steps of the US EPA calling for a ban on Atrazine, a harmful herbicide that causes hermaphroditism in male frogs.
