The Arc Baltimore Honors Larry Burley, Jr. and Erik Daly

Larry Burley, Jr. and Erik Daly have been honored by The Arc Baltimore as Directors Emeritus.

Presented during The Arc’s recent Catalyst for Change Awards Ceremony, the Director Emeritus recognition is the equivalent of the Hall of Fame for Board service at The Arc Baltimore. Director Emeritus recognition is not automatic but an individual and specific designation reserved for members whose service has been substantial and longstanding.

Burley, a Sparrows Point resident, was honored for 10 years of dedicated service, bringing financial expertise and thoughtful leadership to The Arc’s Board. Millersville resident Daly, meanwhile, served on the Board for 11 years, providing financial leadership and guiding key initiatives, including the discontinuation of the agency pension plan, which strengthened sustainability.

“Inspired by his uncle receiving support from The Arc, Larry Burley supported the organization’s sustainability and mission through committee work and community involvement, including hosting The Arc’s Leadership Program for a day of learning at BGE,” says Kathleen McNally Durkin, The Arc Baltimore’s Chief Executive Officer. “His integrity and commitment have made a lasting impact.”

Durkin continues, “As Board President at the end of the pandemic, Erik Daly ensured continuity of services through steady leadership by agreeing to a third year as president. Deeply connected to The Arc Baltimore’s mission, Erik actively engaged in advocacy and organizational events from DD Day at the Maryland legislature to Art in the Round and the annual Golf Tournament. His commitment and perspective as a parent have left a lasting impact.”

Through its Catalyst for Change Awards program, The Arc Baltimore recognizes those individuals who have gone that extra mile in their commitment and service to the organization and those people with developmental disabilities who are recipients of The Arc’s programs and services.

The awards ceremony was preceded by The Arc Baltimore’s Annual Meeting, which included election of Board officers and directors.
