• Sister Mary Laurentilla Back, S.S.N.D., dies at 93 (catholicreview.org) — Towson residents connected to Villa Assumpta will note the passing of longtime volunteer Sister Mary Laurentilla Back, S.S.N.D., who served there from 2009 to 2025. The Baltimore-born nun spent decades in teaching and pastoral care across Maryland and the U.S., and her funeral Mass will be livestreamed from Stella Maris in Timonium on August 25 for those unable to attend in person.
