Trinity Launches "Trinity Together: Restoring the Heart of Towson" Campaign

Trinity Episcopal Church in Towson has raised $1.3 million toward its $1.5 million "Trinity Together: Restoring the Heart of Towson" campaign—and is inviting the broader community to help close the remaining gap. The campaign will fund critical infrastructure improvements and renovations that will enable Trinity to expand its service to the Towson community.

“This campaign is a love-letter from Trinity to all of Towson,” said the Rev. Dr. Rhetta Wiley, rector of Trinity. “We are grounded in a faith that commits us to the well-being of our neighbors. The project will renew our spaces to serve those who live, work, or study in Towson—regardless of whether they worship here.

“Many folks rest at our picnic tables, listen to our chimes, shop at our Surprise Shop, entrust their children to our preschool, and find mutual support in various community groups that meet here,” Rev Wiley continued. “We are working now to make our campus an even more welcoming and environmentally friendly place in the heart of our rapidly growing city. We invite all who appreciate Trinity’s presence in this neighborhood to be part of securing our future together.”

The campaign will fund much-needed infrastructure replacement and renovations throughout Trinity’s campus, including the replacement of HVAC, windows, and roofing for several buildings. It will update and enhance spaces for worship, meetings, receptions, and other community gatherings. “Restoring the Heart of Towson,” notes senior lay leader Dara Lewis, “is the goal for our future generations.”

The renovations will directly expand Trinity's community impact. Updated facilities will accommodate more community groups seeking meeting space, enable new programming for area residents, provide brighter and safer classrooms for children in Trinity's preschool, and allow the Surprise Shop, which provides free clothing and household items, to serve even more families in crisis.

The public phase of the campaign launched on January 11. Already, about 45 generous donors and families have pledged $1.3 million in gifts big and small to be given over the next three years. Trinity hopes to achieve its goal of $1.5 million in pledges and donations by May 2026 and anticipates having all work completed by the end of 2028. Dara Lewis observes, “I am in awe over the outpouring of generosity from our church community.”
