📰 News we're reading

• Montgomery Parks seeks input on new Athletic Field Amenity Donation Policy (montgomeryparks.org) — Montgomery Parks, based in Wheaton, is asking residents to weigh in on a new policy that would let individuals and groups donate to improve athletic fields across the county. From September 9 to October 9, you can complete a short survey to influence how private funding supports lights, turf, batting cages, and other upgrades that could benefit Wheaton athletes.

• 25 Years of TPS for Salvadorans: How We Got Here and What's Next (ground.news) — A photo from a Wheaton remittance shop underscores how Salvadoran families here and nationwide are bracing for the end of Temporary Protected Status protections.
