Massachusetts iPhone users could be eligible for payments of up to $95 per device under a proposed $250 million class-action settlement involving alleged misleading advertising tied to Siri artificial intelligence features.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in the Northern District of California on behalf of U.S. consumers, claims Apple marketed “Enhanced Siri” and other Apple Intelligence features before they were actually available, leading some consumers to buy certain iPhone models based on capabilities that had not yet launched.
Apple, based in Cupertino, California, was caught off-guard by the intense consumer interest in the Siri AI features. Buyers were angered after finding out that the new features would be released later than expected, the filing said.

They “would not have purchased the Eligible Devices or would have paid significantly less, had they known Enhanced Siri features were not available,” the filing said.

Apple denied wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case.

“Apple has reached a settlement to resolve claims related to the availability of two additional features,” the company said in a statement. “We resolved this matter to stay focused on doing what we do best, delivering the most innovative products and services to our users.”

Who Is Eligible For A Refund?
Clarkson Law Firm, the public interest law firm that filed the original lawsuit against Apple, said on its website that the proposed settlement covers about 37 million devices bought in the United States between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, including all iPhone 16 models and the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

How Much Money Could People Receive?
Eligible customers are expected to receive about $25 per device initially, though the final amount could increase depending on how many people file claims. Payments are capped at $95 per device.

How Do Customers File Claims?
A claims website has not launched yet. According to court filings and attorneys involved in the case, eligible consumers will eventually receive notices by email or mail explaining how to submit claims. A settlement website with additional information is expected in the coming weeks.
What Happens Next?
The settlement still requires court approval before payments can be distributed. Apple said it settled the case to remain focused on developing products and services.
