PHOTOS: February Blizzard Pummels New England
Whiteout conditions, powerful winds, and heavy snow affected much of New England Monday. See photos of the storm walloping the region.
ACROSS MASSACHUSETTS-- The Northeast and New England region are stuck at home under road travel bans and blizzard warnings Monday as whiteout conditions, heavy snow, and intense winds pummel the densely populated region.
Snow fell at a rapid rate of two to three inches an hour, with snow totals of more than two feet in Boston and parts of South Eastern Massachusetts. This is the second significant snowstorm of the winter, with last month's storm topping 23 inches. The wind is a major issue with winds carrying the snow covering everything in its path and powerful gusts reaching up to 70 mph. Parts of the region have already reported power outages and downed power lines.
As the blizzard rages on, see photos of the cleanup and people braving the wild storm.
