• In rare move, all 5 Southern Berkshire towns delay school budget vote amid financial turmoil (berkshireeagle.com) — Alford residents should know that their Select Board, along with four neighboring towns, has postponed the Southern Berkshire school budget vote to special town meetings in June because of serious financial record problems. The delay gives district leaders time to clean up missing and misclassified data and aims to keep any increase in each town’s school assessment under 6 percent.
