ICE Arrests Man Charged By Arlington Police With Multiple Sex Crimes

ARLINGTON, MA — A man arrested by Arlington police on multiple alleged sex crime charges is now in federal immigration custody, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Rocael Ordonez-Cruz, 23, a Guatemalan national, was arrested by the Arlington Police Department on Thursday, June 25, for charges of assault with intent to rape, rape, indecent assault and battery on a person age 14 or older, and indecent exposure. The agency said officers with Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston arrested Ordonez-Cruz on Tuesday, July 21 after he was released from the Middlesex County House of Correction. ICE said it also served him with a notice to appear before an immigration judge and that he will remain in the agency's custody pending removal proceedings.

“Our officers arrested this alien after his release from the Middlesex County House of Correction to ensure he remains in custody while his criminal and immigration proceedings continue,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston Acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde said in a statement. “Rocael Ordonez-Cruz has been charged with some horrific crimes against a Massachusetts resident. He represents a significant threat to the residents of our Massachusetts communities that we will not tolerate. ICE Boston will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing criminal alien offenders from our New England neighborhoods.”

According to ICE, Ordonez-Cruz unlawfully entered the United States at an unknown location and time without being admitted, inspected, or paroled by a U.S. immigration official. The agency did not release additional details about the allegations underlying the Arlington charges.
