• Senate to take up primary care reform bill next week (bostonglobe.com) — A statewide primary care reform bill, championed by Ashland’s own Senate President Karen Spilka, is headed for debate next week and aims to boost investment in community health centers without raising overall spending. For Ashland residents, the changes could eventually mean better access to primary care, shorter wait times, and more doctors choosing primary care careers, alongside a forthcoming Senate energy bill targeting lower utility costs. 
• Press Release Governor Healey Signs Transportation Funding Bill for Local Roads, Highways, Bridges and Infrastructure to Unlock Housing (mass.gov) — Massachusetts has approved a major transportation funding bill that boosts Chapter 90 aid to a record $300 million and adds $200 million more for projects that support new housing, benefiting every city and town, including Ashland. Senate President Karen Spilka, who represents Ashland, says the law will help fix potholes, repair local bridges, and advance public transit improvements across the Commonwealth.
