Man Found Dead In Jetty Rocks Off Cape Cod Canal: Sandwich Cops

SANDWICH, MA — A man was found dead in the jetty rocks off Cape Cod Canal, the Sandwich police said.

A "concerned fisherman" alerted the law after spotting an unattended bicycle near the jetty at the east end of the canal, the Sandwich Police Department said in a media release.

"Further down the jetty, he observed an unattended tackle box," the release said.

An officer checked the area and found a man's body "deep within the rocks" near the end of the jetty, according to the release.

"Based on his location and his positioning in the rocks, his recovery was extremely difficult," the release said.

Foul play is not suspected, according to the release, but the matter remains under investigation.
