Van Rensselaer’s Restaurant & Raw Bar Hits The Market

WELLFLEET, MA — An iconic piece of Cape Cod’s culinary history is on the market.

The family-run Van Rensselaer’s Restaurant & Raw Bar in South Wellfleet is looking for new owners. In a Facebook post, owners Peter and Diana Hall thanked customers and staff for their contributions.

“All of our staff members … from Cape Cod to Arizona — from Albania to Thailand have been the cornerstones from day one,” the Halls said. “All of our customers … from year-round friends to part-time Cape Codders — from couples who visit each spring to families who are here with us every August have been the absolute glue that holds this family business together through the years. We are so grateful to each & every one of you.”

The Cape Cod landmark first opened its doors in 1968 as the Southfleet Restaurant. It changed its name in 1980 and has been a popular destination ever since.

Currently, the restaurant and staff housing are listed for $2.95 million. The property includes more than 4,000 square feet of restaurant space. The staff housing can accommodate up to 14 employees.
