Bellingham Representative Michael Soter joined fellow lawmakers in announcing the award, which covers design and construction. Final design, permitting and right-of-way work remain ahead.
   

4. Volta Oil raises thousands for Alzheimer's research (wickedlocal.com) — Bellingham's Rapid Refill was among the stores participating in a regional fundraiser that delivered more than $122,000 to the Alzheimer's Association. Volta Oil's five-week Purple Pump Up campaign combined customer contributions, a company match and gasoline-sale donations to support research, care and services for families.
