Beverly Homecoming Returns Sunday With Concerts, LobsterFest, Fireworks

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Homecoming will return from Sunday through Aug. 9, with a citywide schedule of community events tied to Beverly 400+ and a concentration of concerts, family activities and signature gatherings at Lynch Park.

The two-week lineup begins Sunday with a Beverly 400+ Scavenger Hunt, Beverly Homecoming High Tea at Jolie Tea Co. and the Beverly Cove Time Capsule Reveal at the Cove Community Center.

On Monday, events include an open house at the McPherson Youth Center and the Greater Beverly YMCA Summer Yoga Series at Lynch Park.

Several history-focused events are scheduled during the celebration. They include tours of The First Parish Church on Tuesday, an open house at the Balch House, an open house at Hale Farm on Aug. 4 and a Cabot Theater History Exhibit opening reception on Aug. 2.

A LEGO exhibit, "Building Beverly: 400 Years in the Bricks," is also at the John Cabot House through Sept. 5 with museum admission.

Veterans events are a major part of this year's program. The Vietnam Wall opening ceremonies are scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday at Beverly High School, followed by a North Shore Concert Band performance on July 31 and a full slate of veterans-themed events on Aug. 1, including a family fun day, car show, barbecue and a Ricky Lee concert.

The Vietnam Wall closing ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Aug. 2 at Beverly High School.

LobsterFest is scheduled for noon to 8 p.m. on Aug. 5 at Lynch Park, with food, local bands, businesses, politicians and nonprofits. That day also includes performances by the GemStones, Bird’s Eye View and 12 Barz Band, plus a beer garden and children’s activities.

Homecoming closes Aug. 9 with concerts by The Bordellos, Express and Horizon, a cardboard boat race for kids and fireworks at dusk in Mackerel Cove off Lynch Beach.

There is a non-Beverly resident parking fee at Lynch Park — weekdays $15, weekends and holidays $25, seniors and active military personnel are $5 per car weekdays.

There is no parking fee on Wednesday, which is LobsterFest.
