• Beverly Police Warn Resident Of Rash Of Car Break-Ins (patch.com) — Beverly residents are being urged by local police to lock their cars and remove valuables after 17 vehicle break-ins were reported in a single day heading into the holiday weekend. Officers are asking neighbors to review home security footage for suspicious activity and to report any possible break-ins or concerns directly to Beverly police or 911 in emergencies.
   

• William & Mary gains 2 Patriot League honors, moves up a spot in FCS poll (pilotonline.com) — Christopher Newport's fourth-ranked field hockey team handed Endicott a 3-1 loss on Monday in Beverly in a matchup of nationally ranked Division III programs.
