Detectives captured an image of the vehicle and distributed it to surrounding police districts and outside law enforcement agencies. Investigators subsequently tracked the vehicle as it left Boston and traveled north on Interstate 93.

With assistance from Massachusetts State Police, troopers located and stopped the vehicle in Lawrence later that afternoon. Investigators said the driver was wearing clothing matching that of the suspect seen in surveillance footage.
