Boston Police Seek Man In Connection With 3 Break-Ins (patch.com) — Roxbury residents are being asked to help Boston police identify a man linked to three recent break-ins at the same Fountain Street building, where packages and other items were targeted. Detectives released surveillance images and are urging anyone with information to contact District B-2 or submit anonymous tips through CrimeStoppers as they continue investigating the Boston incidents.
   

2. 30 Grams Of Suspected Cocaine Recovered By Boston Police (patch.com) — Boston police say they recovered about 30 grams of suspected cocaine and cash while executing a search warrant at a Harvard Street residence in Dorchester. A 43-year-old local man was arrested near his home and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on trafficking and distribution-related drug charges, underscoring an ongoing Boston narcotics investigation.
   

3. Massachusetts State Rep. Arrested On Federal COVID Relief Fraud Charges (patch.com) — Federal prosecutors in Boston have charged state Rep. Francisco Paulino with multiple counts of wire fraud and money laundering tied to alleged misuse of COVID-19 relief funds. Authorities say Paulino funneled more than $700,000 into business and personal accounts, including real estate expenses and campaign transfers, following a 2024 FBI search of his Lawrence property. The case, announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Boston, centers on his extensive business interests and political role representing parts of Lawrence and Methuen.
   

4. Conservation Biologist Kamal Bawa to Lead Boston Conservation Walk on August 30 (indianewengland.com) — Boston residents can join conservation biologist Kamal Bawa this Sunday, August 30, for a free "Walk with the Giants" discussion on biodiversity amid elephant sculptures on Commonwealth Avenue. The Legacy 250 event runs 2–3 p.m., starting opposite 217 Commonwealth Avenue, and welcomes families, students, and neighbors interested in conservation and India–U.S. environmental connections.
   

5. 'Forrest Gump' actor visits Boston firehouse to honor fallen firefighter (boston.com) — A Boston firehouse welcomed actor Gary Sinise on Tuesday as he honored fallen firefighter and Marine veteran Bobby "BK" Kilduff, who died battling a Dorchester blaze in May. Sinise met firefighters, served food to crews and families, and viewed tributes to Kilduff, a third-generation Boston firefighter and longtime volunteer with the Gary Sinise Foundation.
