Teen Arrested On Gun Charges After Shots Fired In Boston

BOSTON, MA — A 15-year-old teenager was arrested on multiple firearm charges following an investigation into a shots-fired incident in Roxbury, according to the Boston Police Department.

The juvenile was arrested at approximately 2:11 p.m. Friday near 20 Powellton Road by members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit. At the time, the teen was wanted on a Roxbury District Court warrant for assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.

The warrant stemmed from an incident that took place at approximately 11 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, when officers responded to the area of 185 Dudley St. for a report of shots fired. Police recovered ballistic evidence at the scene and no injuries were reported.

Later Friday evening, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at 20 Powellton Road as part of the investigation. During the search, police reportedly recovered a Smith and Wesson Walther P22 handgun with one round in the chamber and 10 additional rounds inside a large-capacity magazine.
