📰 News we're reading
1. State dismisses charges against alleged Michael's Deli vandal (jewishjournal.org) — Charges have been dropped against the 80-year-old activist accused of placing a pro-Palestinian sticker on Michael's Deli in Coolidge Corner, after prosecutors said they could not prove the felony vandalism charge. The case, handled in Brookline District Court, had drawn attention in town following months of anti-Israel stickers on the deli's windows after the 2023 Hamas attacks.

2. Sports on the rise: Athletics participation at BHS grows to highest point in a decade (brookline.news) — Brookline High School sports are booming, with student participation up about 25% since 2014 and boosted further by funding from the 2023 override approved by Brookline voters. New teams, more trainers, and expanded financial aid are helping more students find community and confidence, though limited field space across town is straining facilities and could cap future growth.

3. What do you want the old Newbury College campus to be? The town wants to hear from you. (brookline.news) — Brookline is asking residents on Monday what should replace the old Newbury College west campus on Fisher Hill, with ideas ranging from an outdoor pool to a community or senior center. The Fisher Hill West Use Advisory Committee will narrow proposals after the meeting and study top options, as neighbors and advocacy groups push for amenities that balance recreation, equity, and neighborhood impacts.

4. Coolidge Corner Theatre brings 1950's film technology back (spectrumnews1.com) — Brookline's Coolidge Corner Theatre will be one of only five venues worldwide to screen Alejandro G. Iñárritu's new film "Digger" using vintage 1950s VistaVision projectors. The theater has partnered with Boston Light & Sound and the George Eastman Museum to restore and operate the rare equipment, turning the screening into a showcase of historic film technology as much as a movie event.
