Cambridge Eatery Named Boston Magazine's Best New Restaurant Of 2026

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Fallow Kin has been named Boston Magazine's Best New Restaurant of 2026, earning one of the publication's top dining honors less than a year after opening in Cambridge.

The restaurant, located at 853 Main St. in the former Craigie on Main space, was recognized as part of Boston Magazine's annual Best of Boston awards, which highlight standout restaurants, businesses, and destinations throughout the Greater Boston area.

"The vibe is warm and welcoming. The cooking is precise but never precious. And every plate tells a story about New England's seasons, farms, and ingredients," Boston Magazine wrote about Fallow Kin.

The spot opened in October 2025 and is owned by husband-and-wife team Conor Dennehy and Danielle Ayer, who previously owned Tallulah in Cambridge. The restaurant is led by executive chef Marcos Sanchez, formerly of Tasting Counter. The space was previously Craigie on Main, a French restaurant.

Fallow Kin's menu reportedly focuses on contemporary New England cuisine built around seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms. Vegetables play a leading role alongside responsibly raised meat and sustainably harvested seafood, while the kitchen follows a zero-waste philosophy that incorporates fermentation, preservation techniques and whole-ingredient cooking to reduce food waste.

Guests can choose from several dining experiences, including an à la carte menu in the dining room, a seven-course tasting menu at the chef's counter, and a bar menu featuring dishes and cocktails made with ingredients repurposed from the kitchen.
