• Safety zone project gets underway (carlislemosquito.org) — Carlisle’s Safety Committee is moving ahead with traffic studies and new safety zones after Town Meeting approved funding and authority, aiming to justify lowering some recently increased speed limits. The group is also planning a new sidewalk by Spalding Field and coordinating with other town projects on Church, Stearns, Westford, and Concord Streets to improve walkability and safety. 
• Police, parents asked to monitor use of Carlisle Castle (carlislemosquito.org) — Significant damage to the Carlisle Castle playground at Carlisle School has closed key equipment and prompted extra evening and weekend patrols by Carlisle Police. School leaders are asking parents to stress proper use, while volunteers explore costly repair or replacement options for the donor-funded structure and its popular round-about feature.
