• West Nile virus found in mosquitoes in Lowell, Chelmsford (bostonherald.com) — Mosquitoes in North Chelmsford have tested positive for West Nile virus, prompting targeted street-level spraying in affected neighborhoods this week. State officials still rate Chelmsford's risk as moderate for West Nile and low for EEE, but urge residents to use repellents, drain standing water, and take extra care during dusk-to-dawn hours as mosquito season winds down. 
• Lang Receives Glowing Evaluation (insidelowell.com) — Chelmsford residents can see their school superintendent, Dr. Jay Lang, receiving top marks from the School Committee for his leadership, financial management, and work on projects like the Parker Middle School rebuild and Early College programs. Committee members also outlined priorities for improving support for underserved students, expanding multilingual communication, and diversifying the district workforce as the new school year begins.
