• Press Release Governor Healey Delivers Record $58.4 Million in Annual Benefits to Massachusetts Veterans and Military Families (mass.gov) — Chelsea veterans and military families are set to benefit from a record $58.4 million in annual annuity payments and the planned opening of a new state-of-the-art veterans’ home in the city this fall. The Healey administration says expanded eligibility and higher payments aim to make Massachusetts the best home for former service members and their loved ones. 
• Healey signs immigrant protection bill (lowellsun.com) — A major new immigrant-protection law was signed right here in Chelsea at La Colaborativa, immediately limiting ICE’s reach in courthouses, schools, childcare centers, and health facilities statewide. Supporters say it will ease fear in immigrant-heavy communities like Chelsea, while critics argue it weakens cooperation with federal authorities and endangers public safety.
