• Thoreau School's 'fire wing' stays closed as classes begin (concordbridge.org) — Families connected to Thoreau Elementary should plan for continued disruption, as the fire-damaged wing remains closed and won't reopen until at least October while a new dry fire suppression system is installed. Students are being shifted into modular classrooms, insurance will cover most repair costs, and the district is delaying parking lot paving to fund safety upgrades.
