Danvers To Host Pumpkin Collection At Library With Compost Partner
Residents can bring carved or whole pumpkins to the library driveway Nov. 5 for composting instead of trash pickup.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers residents will have a chance to keep post-Halloween pumpkins out of the trash at a town collection event planned for Nov. 5 at the Peabody Institute Public Library of Danvers.
The town said it will host the Pumpkin Collection Event in collaboration with Black Earth Compost.
Residents can bring pumpkins and gourds, whether carved or whole, to the front driveway of the library from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Collected pumpkins and gourds will be turned into nutrient-rich compost. The town encouraged residents to skip the trash and use the drop-off instead as part of a local waste-reduction effort.
Residents are asked to remove any candles or decorations placed in carved pumpkins for composting.
