• 13 charged in Worcester drug trafficking operation (newportdispatch.com) — Federal authorities say a Central Massachusetts drug trafficking ring has been broken up, and one of the 13 people charged is from East Brookfield. Investigators allege the group moved cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl from Puerto Rico into Worcester County. The East Brookfield resident faces a conspiracy charge that could carry a lengthy prison sentence if convicted. 
• Son of Boston Bruins legend Gerry Cheevers charged with sports ticket fraud (bostonherald.com) — A man accused of running a fake sports ticket scheme was recently arraigned at East Brookfield District Court and is being held in Worcester County jail. Police say the investigation tied together complaints from multiple communities and even an out-of-state warrant. The case has drawn attention because the defendant is the son of a former Boston Bruins goalie.
