• Press Release Wales Town Treasurer Arraigned On Embezzlement, Forging Records, And Larceny Charges (mass.gov) — East Longmeadow residents who rely on regional veterans’ services may be affected after the Wales town treasurer was arraigned on charges of embezzling public funds, including from the Eastern Hampden County Veterans’ Service District that serves East Longmeadow. State investigators allege more than $190,000 was diverted through fraudulent invoices and unauthorized checks. The treasurer pleaded not guilty and returns to court in September.
