• 1,260-Pound Blue Marlin Could Set East Coast Record (wgan.com) — An enormous 1,260‑pound blue marlin was hauled back to Falmouth, where its weighing drew a crowd and stunned onlookers, including a local resident. Caught about 100 miles off Cape Cod, the fish may set an East Coast record, with its meat shared among several people and its head sent to scientists for aging.
   

• SSA launches discounts for veterans (mvtimes.com) — Falmouth residents who are veterans will soon qualify for nearly half-price Steamship Authority fares as part of a new discount for port communities. The SSA also approved a pilot program linking Vineyard patients, via Woods Hole, to Boston hospitals using coordinated bus and ferry connections, aiming to ease medical travel for older island veterans and other residents.
