The alert also covers nearby Cape towns, explains symptoms to watch for, and stresses extra precautions for older adults and those with weaker immune systems.

• Charter boat hauls in 1,260-pound blue marlin believed to be East Coast's largest catch (sandiegouniontribune.com) — A record-challenging 1,260‑pound blue marlin was hauled back to shore in Falmouth drawing a crowd of stunned onlookers, including local resident Katie Curran. The giant fish, caught about 100 miles off Cape Cod, is being studied by University of Maine scientists and its meat was shared among a dozen people.
