• Shooting reported in Fitchburg (newportdispatch.com) — Police and state detectives are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting at a Fitchburg residence that left one person in critical condition, though authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the community. A suspect has been taken into custody, and multiple specialized units, including Fitchburg State University Police and State Police tactical teams, assisted at the scene as the investigation continues.
