• West Nile virus found in mosquito samples in Billerica, Fitchburg (bostonherald.com) — West Nile virus has been detected in a mosquito sample collected in Fitchburg on July 21, part of a growing number of positive tests statewide, though no human or animal cases are reported yet. State health officials say risk here remains relatively low but urge residents to avoid mosquito bites with repellent, long sleeves, and by eliminating standing water.
