• After sudden sinkhole closure, Great Barrington tests quick fix for temporary bridge (berkshireeagle.com) — Drivers in Great Barrington should know the town is testing a quick, low-cost fix for the sinkhole that shut down the temporary Division Street bridge. DPW crews will excavate the hole so engineers can decide whether simple recompacting can safely reopen the span within about a month, or if a longer, more expensive reconstruction is needed as work on a permanent bridge approaches.
