• Whitman-Hanson Approves $6M Emergency Loan to Bridge Summer Cash Shortage (southshore.news subscription) — Hanson residents should know the Whitman-Hanson Regional School Committee approved a $6 million short-term loan to keep schools running through July until state aid and town assessments arrive. The 60-day note, backed partly by Hanson’s August 1 payment, carries about $43,000 in interest and will be repaid by mid-August, alongside reallocating unexpected Chapter 70 funds.
