• ‘Beautiful doggy': Haverhill man steps in to protect 2-year-old from coyote attack (nbcboston.com) — A Haverhill neighborhood is on alert after a coyote believed to have rabies confronted a 2-year-old girl near Broadway and Forest Street, prompting a neighbor to intervene and later begin rabies shots. Police and wildlife officials say the animal, which was struck by cars but not recovered, may still be in the area, and parents are keeping children inside more often.
   

• New Rosemont Bridge with ‘Texas Rails' Nearly Ready; Utility Work Source of Delay (whav.net) — Haverhill’s Rosemont Street bridge over the Little River is about two weeks from reopening, restoring a key shortcut between Hilldale Avenue and Main Street near the New Hampshire border. City officials say guardrail installation and National Grid’s electric line relocation are the final hurdles, with the $4.4 million, ARPA-funded bridge now longer, wider, and designed to better protect wildlife and riverbanks.
