Hopkinton, Massachusetts man charged with attempted murder in beach fight video freed on bail (cbsnews.com) — A 70-year-old Hopkinton man has been released on bail after being charged in a violent confrontation at Sandy Beach on Lake Maspenock involving a 21-year-old with prior injuries. A judge called the video of the incident disturbing but cited the man’s lack of prior record in setting bail and ordering him to stay away from both the victim and the beach, a spot reserved for Hopkinton residents.

The unsettling encounter, near Interstate 85, sparked thousands of comments urging the driver to call police and raising concerns about potential crashes, pranks, or staged content, though no injuries were reported.
   

5. Call for Walkers: Register for the 38th Annual Jimmy Fund Walk for Dana-Farber presented by Hyundai (hollistonreporter.com) — This year’s Jimmy Fund Walk for Dana-Farber again uses the Boston Marathon route, with the full 27.5-mile option starting in Hopkinton on Sunday, Oct. 4. Participants can choose shorter distances, walk in person or virtually, and raise money toward a $10 million goal supporting cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
