TeamWalk for CancerCare
Lowell General Hospital's TeamWalk for CancerCare will celebrate its 27th anniversary on Sunday, May 3, 2026, as it continues to support local cancer patients in need.
TeamWalk 2026 will start and finish at The Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell. Pre-walk festivities will once again be co-hosted by Cindy Fitzgibbon, Chief Meteorologist at WCVB Channel 5, and Lori Grande from WBZ News Radio 1030.
In 2000, TeamWalk for CancerCare started with 1,800 walkers who raised $280,000 for cancer patients in the Merrimack Valley. Since then, it has grown to become the largest single-day fundraiser in the Merrimack Valley, raising more than $16 million and touching the lives of more than 44,000 cancer patients and their families.
This year’s honorary event chairs are Dr. William O’Meara, Medical Director for Radiation Oncology, at Lowell General Hospital’s Cancer Center, and Tom Kinneman of North Andover, a patient Dr. O’Meara treated in 2021.
