Springfield DPW says it hopes to reopen West Street Bridge by year’s end, but residents and businesses near Putts Bridge already report serious delays and worry about a future “traffic nightmare.” 
• Frustrations Surface at State Review of Open Meeting Law (amherstindy.org) — Ludlow Town Administrator Marc Strange is pushing back against a proposed statewide mandate that would require every public board to run fully hybrid meetings, warning it could overwhelm smaller towns’ limited tech staff. At a recent state Open Meeting Law review, officials and advocates clashed over enforcement, accessibility, and whether local boards—not residents—should decide if remote participation remains available after pandemic-era rules expire in 2027.
