The city reports strong weight-loss results, high satisfaction, and major prescription savings, positioning Lynn as a model for other municipalities tackling obesity and rising healthcare costs.

Local Firefighters Rally for MA family (firefighternation.com) — Lynn readers will recognize their own firefighters among the dozens of North Shore first responders who joined a surprise drive-by salute in Salem for teenager Sebastian Hanson, who has muscular dystrophy and is in hospice care. Imagining the future of the MBTA (nbcboston.com) — Transit advocates are urging the MBTA to study new rail and bus routes that would better connect Lynn, Chelsea, and Everett to hubs like Kendall Square and Longwood. For Lynn residents, the proposal could mean faster, more frequent service and expanded bus options, though it’s still conceptual and faces funding and planning hurdles over the coming years.
   

5. 19-year-old woman charged after ‘doing donuts' at Nahant event venue - Boston News, Weather, Sports (whdh.com) — A 19-year-old from Haverhill has been charged after allegedly tearing up the lawn of a Nahant event venue by doing car “donuts,” and she’s been summoned to appear in Lynn District Court. Nahant police say mud and grass on the vehicle’s tires tied it to the damage, and the property owner called the incident an expensive, frustrating mistake rather than a targeted act.
