LHAND also added a new scholarship category for trades, technology, and military-bound students, and is already planning a September golf tournament to raise money for next year’s Lynn graduates.

2. School Commitee makes it official: Cohen is super (itemlive.com) — Lynn’s School Committee has officially named Dr. Molly Cohen as superintendent, extending her contract for three years after eight months in the interim role. A 21-year veteran of Lynn Public Schools, Cohen says she’ll focus on equitable, rigorous learning and stronger family and community engagement as the district aims to become one of the state’s top urban systems.

3. Swampscott woman dies in horse accident (marbleheadweeklynews.com) — Lynn residents may recognize the family of 25-year-old Chloe Christina Smith, whose father once represented West Lynn and whose brother serves on the Lynn School Committee, as they mourn her death in a horse-riding accident. Smith, a Swampscott native, had just realized her dream of owning a Berlin horse farm and was known for her independence, generosity, and passion for social justice. Her family takes solace in her organ donation and the legacy of care she leaves behind.

4. Rodrigo y Gabriela Share 'Monster' Video To Announce New Album 'OurHome' (antimusic.com) — Lynn music fans can catch Rodrigo y Gabriela at Lynn Auditorium on Saturday, October 24, part of a major North American tour tied to their new album OurHome. The Mexico City–born guitar duo’s record, inspired heavily by Japan and personal transformation, arrives September 18 with a new single and video, “Monster,” already out. Their fall tour also hits major U.S. and Canadian venues.

Lynn's Ephemeral Jess blends art, community, and culture (itemlive.com) — Lynn residents can meet local artist Jessica “Ephemeral Jess” Cruz and see her work at Lynn Gallery Night on June 18 at Inc.ubate Coworking on Washington Street. Cruz, who moved to Lynn in 2021, blends Salvadorian heritage, community storytelling, and hands-on workshops to celebrate everyday neighborhood life while balancing motherhood, nonprofit work, and a growing art career.
