Lynnfield Schools, Parks Set For Mosquito Spraying Monday Night

LYNNFIELD, MA — Lynnfield residents near several schools and parks may see mosquito control trucks Monday night as the Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control and Wetlands Management District carries out planned spraying in town.

According to the district, mosquito control spraying is scheduled for Aug. 3 between 7:45 p.m. and 12 a.m. A weather backup date of Aug. 5 has been set.

The planned treatment area includes Huckleberry Hill School, Summer Street School, Lynnfield Middle School, Lynnfield High School, Jordan Park, Glen Meadow and Newhall Park.

During the application, residents are encouraged to remain indoors and keep windows and doors on the street side closed, according to the notice. People may continue using air conditioning while the treatment is underway.

Windows and doors may be reopened about 30 minutes after the truck passes, according to the information provided.

The treatment list covers a mix of school properties and recreation areas across Lynnfield. Families using the parks or school grounds Monday evening may want to plan around the spraying window, which begins before 8 p.m. and continues until midnight.
