Art Show with Jeffrey R. Dykes at the Cloister Gallery at St. Andrew’s Church

The Cloister Gallery is excited to host a new show featuring Jeffrey R. Dykes. The show will run from Sunday May 17 through Sunday September 13, 2026.The show will open with a reception on Sunday May 17 from 11:15am to 12:30pm.

With nearly four decades of experience as a commercial photographer and image maker, Jeffrey R. Dykes draws from a rich background that ranges from his New England roots and wilderness survival teaching to a fourteen-year tenure at the Peabody Essex Museum. His practice bridges the evolution of the medium, moving from the traditional craftsmanship of darkroom silver prints to the precision of modern digital giclée printing while maintaining a lifelong commitment to evocative storytelling.

This exhibit, Chasing the Print, showcases a diverse collection of imagery captured across New England’s backyard, featuring everything from the industrial grit of yacht yards and boat building to intimate studio studies and changing landscapes and cityscapes. Through these gathered moments, Dykes explores the "golden ticket" of the standalone image and the progression of the human condition, viewing each print as both a learning curve and a celebration of the creative process.
