Marlborough Mayor's Statement on ICE: Where is it?

Dear Mayor Dumais,

We strongly urge you to take a stand with other Massachusetts mayors to issue an executive order stating that ICE is not welcome in Marlborough and they cannot use any city facilities (parking lots, parks, etc) to execute their activities.

The lie being told by the federal government is that ICE is deployed in our cities to stop rampant crime, murders, rapists and thieves. In fact, the presence of ICE terrorizes harmless, law-abiding residents of our city, making Marlborough a worse place to live than it was before they came in and began harassing our neighbors.

As mayor of ALL the people, you should stand up against this encroachment on our peaceful way of life. We recognize that in fact, ICE and DHS are out of control and will do whatever they please. But you don't have to let them do this without calling them out for what they are: a secret police force sent among us by an autocratic leader.

We are watching you and hoping you will step up and show some leadership in this. Silence is approval, please to not approve ICE's behavior with your silence.
