Marlborough Police Calls, Arrests Decline In September
Police activity and arrests declined last month while reports involving threats or assaults increased.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough police activity declined in September, although the department recorded a sharp increase in reports involving threats or assaults.
The Marlborough Police Department handled 2,739 calls and incidents during the month, made 46 arrests and received 1,739 911 calls, according to statistics released Friday. Police averaged 58 emergency calls per day.
Overall activity fell by 371 calls and incidents from the 3,110 recorded in August. Arrests declined from 57 to 46, while 911 calls fell from 1,760 to 1,739, according to last month’s police statistics.

Police conducted 563 motor vehicle stops in September, down from 683 in August. Officers responded to 106 accidents, 103 disturbances, 87 alarms and 30 domestic disputes.
The department recorded 124 reports involving threats or assaults, up from 16 in August. Larceny and shoplifting reports declined from 43 to 29.

Other activity included 191 medical calls, 102 well-being checks and 20 animal complaints. Police also served seven arrest warrants and reported 31 interactions involving mental health clinicians.
