Medford Tailor Celebrates Half A Century

The business has operated in Haines Square its entire existence.

MEDFORD, MA — A Haines Square recently celebrated a significant milestone

Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn joined owner Rosanna Marrone, her family, and employees this week for a ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizing the 50th anniversary of Le Grand Chic, which has operated at 256 Spring St. since 1976.

Marrone said the key to remaining in business at the same location for five decades has been a passion for her craft and a commitment to providing quality service.

According to public business records, Marrone has owned and operated the family business since it opened in 1976. The shop has remained in Haines Square throughout its five decades in business, a milestone that has become increasingly uncommon for independently owned retailers navigating changing shopping habits and rising operating costs.

The business's website says Le Grand Chic is committed to providing personalized service and quality craftsmanship, with experienced tailors and seamstresses working on everything from everyday clothing alterations to custom and special occasion garments.
