• Melrose Completes Major Summer Renovation Throughout Public Schools (patch.com) — Melrose families can expect upgraded school buildings this year after a summer packed with bathroom renovations, accessibility improvements, asbestos removal, and safety inspections across the district. Funded largely by last fall's Proposition 2 1/2 override and state and federal grants, the work modernizes aging facilities, improves ADA access, and supports a long-term master plan for all eight Melrose public schools.
   

• Driver Rescued After Car Rolls Over In Melrose (patch.com) — Emergency crews in Melrose rushed to Main Street after a pre-dawn rollover crash left a driver trapped in a blue hatchback outside Collette Bakery and Melrose Nails. Firefighters from Ladder 1 and Engine 3 extricated the victim in about 12 minutes, and the driver was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital as the crash investigation continues.
